About me


I am a Principal Lecturer affiliated to the Subject Group of Economics and Finance at the University of Portsmouth.

I am the Director of the Undergraduate Courses in Economics; I coordinate the activities of more than 30 colleagues, teaching in excess of 40 subjects, to more than 400 students, enrolled in our three courses: BSc Economics; BSc Economics, Banking and Finance; BA Economics and Management.

Research Interests


My interests span over a few different streams:

  1. productivity
  2. central banking
  3. war, defence and security
  4. charitable organisations
  5. aerospace and maritime industries

Teaching Responsibilities


I have taught several undergraduate modules in our courses:

  1. Issues in finance and banking
  2. Mathematics for economists
  3. Quantitative methods and data analysis
  4. Economics of money, banking and financial markets
  5. International banking and financial instruments
  6. Intermediate microeconomics
  7. Intermediate macroeconomics

I am the Senior Tutor for the Subject Group Economics and Finance, and a dissertation supervisor.

Other Interests


I am the Director of Aviation and Accountable Manager at Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Lead Examiner for the Diploma in Company Direction of the Institute of Directors.
